Marketed by RS components as their part number 423-829, and manufactured from strong nylon, these are a tool designed to aid the anti-static insertion of I.C.'s into circuit boards.

The profile of the tool shapes the legs from the splayed position they are supplied new from the factory as, to 90 degrees to the body so they fit into the circuit board effortlessly and without damage. The plunger then pushes the chip through and into the board / socket.

Can be used with chips from 6 pin upto 16 pin.

They came to us from a military laboratory where they have had little or no use.
