Manufactured by NEC as their model FD3238T these are 3.5" thin form factor floppy disc drives.

 As new and unused condition, these were removed from new equipment that had to be destroyed.

This model of drive which is actually USB was used in many industry applications as well as been used by some of the most popular laptop brands.
