MILITARY QUALITY ANTISTATIC WRIST EARTH STRAP TESTER

These were manufactured by Sirus in the UK for the Ministry of Defence, (NSN 6625-99-126-0876). They are a premium quality resistance tester, for checking the integrity of anti-static wrist straps, boot straps and cables.

The Sirus Wrist Strap Tester easily measures the resistance (750 Kohm low and 35 Mohm High) of a wrist strap and cord or heel/toe grounder when worn by the user.
  
It is used by the operator wearing the wrist strap in the normal position and pluging the free end of the cord into the Sirus tester. The hand contact plate shall be pressed by a finger which causes a circuit to be made and the wrist strap resistance verified to be within acceptable parameters, or not. 
A passed wrist band causes the green Pass LED to light, either a yellow or red LED means the wrist strap under test is outside of permitted tolerance.

 Being a portable battery powered tool, it is perfect for small labs or for a supervisor to spot-check workers to ensure compliance. 

There is also a low battery indicator.
