TO3 8 WAY TRANSISTOR SOCKET

Manufactured for the Ministry of Defence, these are heavy duty sockets, milled out of fiber glass that accept an 8 way (also a 4 way) TO-3 style metal can transistor type packaged device.

The TO3 8 pin devices are usually very expensive high power amplifiers, such as the Burr Brown OPA811AM. Given that they can cost hundreds of pounds each, it is a good idea to insert them into a socket like these instead of soldering directly into the board.

Supplied as shown, mounted on a small piece of flexi-pcb, which can easily be removed.
