1R 250W VARIABLE LOAD RESISTOR

Manufactured by SECI in Milan Italy as their part number RVR250/0677/1R0, these are a 1 Ohm 250 Watt wire wound adjustable resistor.

Vitreous enamel coating along which a strip is left uncoated to expose a portion of each turn of the resistor. The resistance is changed by moving the adjustable center sliding lug.

Not often seen anymore, very useful low value high power load resistor, they make an ideal voltage divider.

The center sliding connection can be tightened up and 'set' once the desired resistance has been found.

Overall dimensions are 263mm long x 30mm diameter, plus connections and the weight is 400g.
