Almost bomb proof and manufactured by Crompton Parkinson in the mid 1950's for the M.O.D., these are a beautiful and substantial panel meter of the 'cost is no problem' manufacturing genre.

The 270 degree movement is DC 20mA, in the present configuration an internal shunt makes them a large and easy to read 0 - 500V meter.

The rear of the unit is dis-assembled in 5 minutes revealing the shunt and the actual movement connections, so they could easily be re-configured for a different range or use.

The solid construction is of cast aluminium with a Bakelite molding containing the shunt at the rear.

Dimensions across the front are 110mm with 7mm mounting holes at 85mm centres. The actual glass is 90mm diameter. Behind panel depth including the shunt housing is 150mm and the weight is 1.8Kg.

New and unused vintage stock, not seen daylight in over 50 years, if these were manufactured nowadays they would cost hundreds.
